I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m sh*t when it comes to talking up my book. Only sold one today. But . . . enjoyed the conference, seeing an old writing friend, and making some new connections. (PS- I still have copies of Not Our Summer if anyone wants one!)

Well, my author reading is over. A small turnout but there were positives. A man gave me tons of compliments (I don't think he was hitting on me?). And the book store owner said my reading was great and he'd promote my novels. So...silver lining. #amwriting #WritingCommunity

As a developmental book editor, I truly believe that revisions are where the magic happens. A successful developmental edit has the power to help you achieve your vision for your story & feel more confident in it.But what does a dev edit actually entail? An #amwriting 🧵:

One of the major causes of writer’s block is perfectionism: trying to make everything perfect in the first draft. When you try to write and edit, you’re running your creative brain and your logical brain at the same time. That can kill your productivity.Don't worry about…

There’s this MS i shelved a year ago. I knew it was something special which was why it took me so long to let go. I just couldn’t figure out why & where exactly it lost me. Y’all, I had a dream last night, and it finally hit me what I did wrong. Do I dare revive her?🥹

Lost my writing partner yesterday. I rescued him from a shelter in 2010, and he rescued me every day after. Today, I have to fend for myself. Rest in peace, sweet George. I miss you more than words can say. #5amwritersclub

Amidst querying, I forgot I applied for a grant. Which I didn't get! Just got a form rejection reading: "Dear Applicant." BUT, it also says "We want to note that we were impressed by your work, which scored in the top 10% of all applications."Do we think everyone's says that??

I'm blown away by the response to my no-show book talk photo. I'm working my way through your replies, trying to heart everyone, even if I can't thank you properly. THANK YOU.Maybe I won't drop out of Twittex after all. Maybe the writing community I've loved is still here. ❤️

@BristolVaudrin I only follow writers or publishing related accounts. But even with writers, if there are too many retweets I won't follow. I prefer to read original content & thoughts than retweets of posts that I've already likely seen since (as writers) we are likely following the same peeps
