Any more updates on the NC Supercharger? I’ve looked at the First Stage Tuning site, but it hasn’t been updated so I went and checked the forum at BR Performance, but it was also a dead end.

We're supposed to be patient, and be quiet. We've just arrived to the party and we have to wait for FI...like everyone else did... ;)

I think that Al's point is that we were told to expect something on July 17, we are now two weeks past that.

If a vendor publicly states a date (which they did), they should expect questions when that date is not met.

Exactly...even if it’s going to be another month or two I’d just like a "small" update on where the SC stands! :)

Speaking of superchargers for the NC, did anyone see the current issue of Sport Compact Car (with 2 RX7's on the cover)? They have a feature story on the Power Tuning supercharged NC. It's strictly a JDM prototype kit, but from the photos it appears they are using a Roots blower and possibly an intercooler. Unfortunately the Power Tuning car is a home-market 1.8L and the story does not explain what they are using for engine management upgrades.

Wait a few days for some pics of the initial setup of the twinscrew on the NC. The car is on jackstands and torn apart while a manifold is being cast.

You won't get any release dates at all from us or BEGI since it's still way too early. I will say that the initial prototype will hopefully be ready in time to take to the Solo Nationals in September. We just got our ACT clutch delivered to our shop this week, we just need the boost!

Seriously, Corky has made HUGE improvements on the previous supercharger designe, particularly the larger throttlebody allowing more air into the SC, the bypass placement (which is still in the air about what the final design will be) and the throttle cable. All brand new and a much better design. These should make bigger power numbers because of the increased airflow and the Xede engine management should be able to match up with it nicely.

I'm still trying to get what was supposed to be a solid kit for the NB running in a reliable manner. I ordered mine in January and received it in June. As of yet, the car is still not drivable and they still do not have complete install instructions. They haven't even had any support available for 4 days now.

Yet you complain because a date is two weeks overdue

Hey Dan, did you ever get a chance to test the Xede with only intake and exhaust?

Stephanie did get the Xede working with the intake and exhaust but only to make sure that it worked properly. They had some initial problems because of the NC wiring (radically different from the previous Miatas) but then started tearing the car apart for the SC project. So, generic answer is: yes. I wish i had other details about power increase etc. but no dyno pulls were run, they were more interested in making sure the Xede will be ready for the NC soon.

we *are* looking for another NC to do some further Xede tuning on with the intake and exhaust.
