We are looking for a new set of wheels for the evolution orange. I photoshopped a set of champagne chaparals, and I'm curious what people think. No comments on the photoshop quality, I brute forced it ;)

I suspect people are either going to love it or hate it. I love it, my GF hates it and it is her car. I'm also thinking a black wheel with a polished lip would be nice.

eh I've seen worse

its not all that bad really, but in person the colors may clash

Your GF has much better taste.

A black/polished wheel would work O.K. But Evo Orange is such an "in your face" kind of color, I would stick with a silver or polished wheel. Maybe a grey/polished. Chrome would work well with that color if you want the bling thing.

I think they look great, but then I'm not a slave to fashion. I think the champagne marketing scheme is pretty funny. No one would even consider these wheels if they said that they're gold. Gold is so, like, '80s, dude, I mean, like, oh my god!!!

The Gunmetal would look better IMO, unless it were Evo Orange centers, polished lip, then that would be the best IMO again ;).

I have to say that I think the colors clash. If it's a pick between the champagne or black, I'd choose the black. Gunmetal with a polished lip sounds better.

But, hey, it's your car [or rather your girlfriend's] so the choice is up to her. ;)

The orange and the champagne are too close to the same color... I think that makes them clash. I would go with chrome first and polished silver second.

The GF may not always be right but she's never wrong... :-)

Quad-streer Miata COOL The wheels clash with the car. I am in the Gunmetal gray corner.

I personally never liked either one seperately... perhaps together its a match made in heaven?

Hey, I said no comments on the photoshop job :D :D

I figured most wouldn't like the champagne color due to the lack of taste most of you have :) , but I am surprised more don't like black.

Hate it, I think something all polished would look better.

Huh  What are you talking about, have you been drinking or are you responding to the wrong post ;)

I'm thinking he means that he's never liked Evolution Orange cars or champagne colored wheels... hence the phrase either one seperately.. :-)

That makes sense. I have to admit, Evolution orange is a love it or hate it color.

Looks great to me - just enough class in the coloring - black or GM I think on an Evo will dull the car down a bit. That is just my opinion though.

Hey Scuba Steve, Since my son is a real big fan of Your and seeing how he has got a toy shark chasing you as we speak in the tub....

If you like I will ship you one wheel so you can match hold it up against the car in person.

I suspect the Champagne will pay off the Tan top and interior quite nicely??

let me know??
Best regards

Joseph

Don't like the Champaigne. If your car had a black top, I'd go black or gunmetal Chaparrals. Since you have the tan top, I think the silver Chaparals (which, BTW are gorgeous) would be the best pick.

Personally, I think the Evo Orange is one of the nicest Miata colors - particularly with a black interior. That being said, someone posted a picture of an Evo with gunmetal SSR Comps in another thread. Schweeeettt!

It doesnt work for me

Anthony

eh, it's OK. I've seen some pretty ugly combos running around out there, but that's not too bad.

However....if your GF hates it and it's HER car, doesn't that pretty much veto the decision?

Oh! 4 Wheel steering~
The black would look awsome.

Ultimately yes, but she has a disease called "Delayed onset good taste". :D

When she first saw the evolution orange color she didn't like it, and she wound up purchasing one.

Not a good match at all. Would look better with black wheels

Well ,
we just happened to have an Evo Orange in the shop for an oil change and I was able to roll up a wheel and get a few half butt shots.

It acually looks pretty Cool !

Nice pics, I really like it, unfortunately Sharon doesn't. Any chance of putting the black or gunmetal up against the car? I really like those wheels :)

Wow ............those look great, I would've thought otherwise. Maybe it's the flash that makes it look good in the first photo, as the second photo looks more like the one Scuba_Steve P/shopped.

Hey Joe why not just bolt that wheel on the evo car???? =P

BRANDINI

I had an 81 280zx turbo that had that color combination from the factory. The car only came in that one color which was very close to the evolution orange and had factory "gold" wheels with I think a polished lip.I look back on that car with fondness although it was the least reliable car I ever owned.

What does she like? It's her car.

I'm usually not too fond of gold, sorry, champagne wheels, but this combo doesn't make me want to retch. I think there are better color combos out there, though.
