Description[]

Advanced Combat Engineers was a video game designed in 2044, by the company known as Crimson Cube Gaming INC., which has gained notoriety for it's immersive gameplay. The game takes inspiration from games such as Helldivers 2 and Space Engineers, which has made a interesting sandbox co-op shooter that has attracted millions, being an instant hit that has lasted for millenia.

Lore[]

The story behind Advanced Combat Engineers is simple. The year is 2070, Earth has become part of a group known as the Federation of United Stars, a truly democratic organization comprising of both separate faction militaries and the main uniting militia within the Federation. However, the organization is at war with currently two factions, a highly technologically advanced and mysterious coalition of insurgents known as The Reaper's Fist, and a race of battle-thirsty, biologically advanced squid-like foes referred to as Larathians, who are comparable to feral animals in regards to intellect despite their capability of creating hive-like ships. The players are part of the main uniting militia of the Federation, known as ACE's or Advanced Combat Engineers for their ability to create objects and mechanics with their portable fabricators, if given the materials, as they aid in the war against The Reaper's Fist and the Larathian menace. However, the truth behind The Reaper's Fist and the Larathians are quite disturbing...

Features[]

Open World Gameplay[]

The game possesses an almost open-world style, in which players can freely traverse a planet or even space without much restrictions as to where they can and cannot go. However, an interesting feature is that each planet has it's own 'conquest status'. This means how much enemy presence is on the planet, if it's 100% then there are no enemies, but if it's lower, there will be enemies. You can increase the capture status by both eliminating enemies and completing tasks on a planet, such as destroying hostile bases or stealing intel from the enemy. However, progress will slowly lower as long as enemies are present and no actions are done to increase the capture status, or if the enemies do something major, such as destroying a player's base or a massive capital ship orbiting the planet. If a player dies, they simply respawn at a random homeworld controlled by the Federation of United Stars.

Real Time 'Gamemaster'[]

The game has one single developer with the title of Gamemaster, who initiates events across the galaxy, such as Larathian invasions of certain planets and sectors, along with developments in technology for either the players or their enemies, along with changing the tactics and more of enemies. This continues to make the game interesting. Currently the only known information regarding the Gamemaster is he is a developer named Bill.

Sandbox Features[]

Players have the ability to freely create their own bases, vehicles, and more with their wrist-mounted fabricator, as long as they have the resources to do it, which can be done by mining on certain planets. This feature makes it incredibly useful, as players can construct things from mining vehicles, transports, tanks, dropships, capital ships, and even factories and shipyards to create such vehicles. Some have even made drones and 'superweapons' that have remarkable capability on the battlefield. If someone panics about forgetting how to build something, no worries- They can save their builds so that as long as they have the resources, they can recreate it entirely. It should also be noted that with this feature, the game has slots for vehicles that the Federation of United Stars has created, and player factions allow them to spawn in save slots that have been saved across the faction, which has made some factions create official vehicles for official roles, and have specific engineers make their war machines.

Immersive Physics[]

The game's physics are extremely realistic. In space, there is zero gravity, meaning players must resort to using jetpacks and other equipment to move around, however there is also inertia, meaning that if an object is moving, it will keep moving in space unless something stops it, such as hitting something or a form of propulsion propelling it in another direction. Each planet has it's own gravity, thus affecting the weight and performance of certain equipment along with players, and some even have dangerous weather and wildlife, from hostile carnivores to storms that rain ice shards. While 'fall damage' technically exists, the damage is rather caused by the speed of an object as it hits something, and it applies to both vehicles and players. If a collision occurs, whichever object has lower durability will take damage, meaning a fighter jet crashing into a meteor at high speed will be annihilated, but a truck ramming at top speed into a pebble will destroy the pebble.

Player Factions[]

Players can create their own factions and militias that are part of the Federation of United Stars. These player factions can establish their own homeworld in a place they have captured fully, however they can only have one and it may experience attacks from enemies like The Reaper's Fist or the Larathians, and hostile environments and wildlife will still remain. It simply means that enemies cannot capture the homeworld, and that anyone part of the player faction will respawn at the homeworld. Oftentimes, player factions focus on certain roles, such as shipping resources to other player factions or participating actively in the war effort. It should be noted that player factions each get their own special save slots that allow faction members to spawn in vehicles built by other faction members, resulting in most factions adopting some general vehicles for all players that perform extremely well.

Co-op Gameplay[]

In the game, there is no PVP gameplay, only cooperative gameplay. This reduces toxicity substantially, and also promotes unity in the community. This also has enabled the evolution of certain player factions as they interact with each other, from some mining and shipping resources to factions, to actively participating in battles, and even some acting as reconnaissance for other factions, giving intel regarding the enemy.
